During the early development of the titanium industry, Vanadium Alloy Steel
(VASCO), a regional specialty steel company based out of Latrobe, Pennsylvania, became instrumental in the processing of titanium. |
| Edward F. Sobota worked as a metallurgist for VASCO, and one of his responsibilities included monitoring the conversion of titanium. |
In the early 1970s, Mr. Sobota began consulting
for different titanium companies. And in 1975,
he founded TechSpec, Inc., a consulting firm
that specialized
in titanium processing.
One year later, the company
purchased
its
first
piece of equipment (a small
bar
blaster) to
enhance
its capabilities
with
value-added
processes. |
Today, TSI Titanium (TechSpec, Inc.) has grown to
include
over 130,000
square feet
of
manufacturing
space in Derry,
Pennsylvania,
and
processes millions of pounds
of
titanium annually.
Focused on reaching
new heights
in this dynamic industry,
TSI
will
continue to make investments
in
cutting-edge
technology
and
exceptional personnel
in order to
deliver the
unmatched customer
service and
superior bar
products
that are
associated
with
its name. |
